eLight completes Brooks deal

Dublin company eLight has completed an LED lighting project with timber distributor and builders merchant Brooks.

Under the terms of the contract, agreed last November, eLight installed energy efficient lighting at Brooks’ seven stores nationwide.

More than 1,000 lights were installed across the seven stores by manufacturers including Philips and Actavo.

The project is expected to reduce Brooks’ lighting costs by €91,0000 per annum. The LED lighting will be paid for over three years as a portion of the energy savings made.

Irish sustainable lighting company eLight has become Europe’s largest “Light as a Service” business following the acquisition of UK rival, formerly known as Energy Works. The expanded eLight group has a turnover of €12m. The company has completed over 600 projects, generating over €60 million in savings for clients. eLight intends investing €100m on projects over the next three years.

Energy-saving light specialist also intends to double workforce to 80 over next 12 months

Irish energy-saving lighting specialist Elight has acquired a rival company in the United Kingdom and said the new merged entity will invest €100 million in sustainable projects over the next three years.

The Dublin-based company is also looking to double the number of people it employs to 80 over the next 12 months.

Dublin-based eLight Group has acquired the UK’s Energy Works in a deal that will create a new company, eLight Works, with a combined turnover of €12m.

Both firms are “Lighting As A Service” providers and they refit companies with energy efficient lighting which is paid for by taking a cut of the savings over an extended period of time.

The company said this deal makes it the biggest lighting as a service company in Europe and it now plans to invest €100m in projects over the next three years.
